Done with Bookkeeping

If you’re like me, you seriously don’t have time for the whole bookkeeping exercise every month.

Whether you do it the old-fashioned way with a paper ledger, electronically with QuickBooks, or one of the other various methods, you probably hate hate it (two hates yep, not a typo).

I shared an article in May about how to streamline your accounting methods to position for growth. This week I wanted to share one of the ways I’m continuing to streamline my own accounting strategy.

Sure, recording transactions is easy but how long do you spend on it every month? An hour? An Evening? A Saturday (heaven forbid)? Is it worth your time?

Let’s look at how valuable your time is.

If it takes you 1 hour and 30 mins to do your bookkeeping every month, that’s roughly $107 of your time (assuming you can make ~$70/hr doing therapy).

Also, did you do it right? Did you just make a bunch of guesses and hope that the IRS never asks questions? Sorry to bring them up in this conversation. But honestly, are you recording things in the most efficient way possible to maximize your tax returns at the end of the year? Your accountant can advise you but not on every transaction.

Enter the solution I found; Bench Accounting.

Take a look here Bench.co. They handle all my bookkeeping for a super affordable rate and if you use the link above, they’ll even give you the first 2 months for free. My personal bookkeeper Madison is awesome and she’s always there to answer my questions in less than 24 hours. They even gave me a huge tax file for my accountant for tax season, I didn’t have to lift a finger, just emailed it to him and my taxes were done.

I love helping therapy businesses grow and scale their operations, when I find a good thing like this I just can’t keep it to myself.
